THE SWAN HOUSE - 2009 BOOKINGS ALREADY BEING TAKEN

Five-star rated by Visit Wales after a complete refurbishment for 2006 and its release as a holiday property, the Swan House lies in the Welsh Marches, just a few miles from the border with England, on the edge of the Evancoyd estate in the village of Evenjobb. The views from the house are truly stunning as they take in the rolling Radnorshire hills across a spread of historic parkland dotted with sheep.

The Swan House is a pretty shuttered bungalow, beautifully refurbished to provide very comfortable four-bedroom accommodation and decorated throughout by the renowned decorator Penny Morrison. There are two double bedrooms with king-size beds and two twin bedrooms with single beds, all beds having their own custom made bed heads with Egyptian cotton bed linen, goose down pillows and luxury quilts. There is an oil-fired Rayburn in the fully fitted kitchen which opens to a light and sunny dining room/conservatory. The living room has large comfortable sofas and armchairs with an open fireplace and patio doors which open onto the south facing terrace. The terrace is surrounded by a good sized lawned garden with flower beds, ideal for relaxation and enjoying the superb views. The Swan House is centrally heated throughout, has its own washing machine and has two bathrooms and one shower room. Luxury cotton towels are provided for all guests and for their entertainment there is a TV, DVD/Video player, compact Hi Fi along with a selection of books and games.

The Swan House is surrounded by beautiful countryside, just off Offa's Dyke and provides an ideal base for walking, antique hunting, exploring and relaxing. The towns of Presteigne, Knighton and Kington lie within a eight mile radius of the Swan House. Each town has a traditional High Street with local butchers, greengrocers, bakers, cafes and pubs. It is 30 minutes to Hay-on-Wye (UK book centre), Ludlow (delightful Marches town and epicurean centre) and Hereford (Cathedral city), and 25 minutes to Leominster (antique centre). Lovely white beaches with big waves can be enjoyed at Borth, a beautiful one and a quarter hour drive west. The highest golf course in England is just outside Kington with views of seven counties from its summit.
